The DecarboNet Research Project (‘DecarboNet’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’) operates the website, applications and associated services that you are currently using (‘Services’) and supplies the devices (‘Products’) that operate in conjunction with the Services. The DecarboNet research project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no 610829. This Privacy Policy sets out how DecarboNet uses, processes and protects any information that you provide or data that is collected when you use the Services. DecarboNet is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. What we collect

DecarboNet very carefully and purposefully separates personal data that it collects about you from the data that is collected through the use of our Services (‘Usage Data’).

The energy monitoring devices provided to some trial users in the context of the DecarboNet Research Project have facilities to automatically collect and hold a variety of data, including the following:

    - Energy consumption data from a whole house energy sensor or individual appliance energy sensors
    - Profile and schedules for timed device switching applications
    - Temperature information about your home or zones in your home
    - Temperature and time profiles relating to your home
    - Information about how you interact with the Services and Products in your home

What DecarboNet does with the information we gather

DecarboNet requires this information to better understand your energy consumption and appliance usage behaviour. In particular, it helps us with:

    - Internal record keeping and administration
    - Academic research activities
    - To improve the quality of the information that we provide
    - Responding to your queries
    - Completing or contacting you in relation to project activities
    - Notifying you about changes to the Services
    - Allowing you to use the Services, interactive features on the Website or provide you with our Products or Services

How DecarboNet processes and manages your personal information and data

DecarboNet or its partner organisations will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless you have given us permission or are required by law to do so.

DecarboNet is committed to ensuring that your information is secure and have designed the Products and Services with this in mind.
