I've got a halogen oven. It seems to be ideal for cooking small portions, for 1-2 people. Baking something for 20 minutes (around 200oC), the consumption was around 0.4 kWh. I have no clue if it is good compared to the traditional oven (mine is electric too). Any experience ?

Hi watt, I must admit, this is the first time I hear about halogen ovens! :) but I'm intrigued, and found this article from the telegraph that compares different type of ovens. What I learnt is that halogen ovens consume more electricity per hour in comparison to other ovens, but, halogen ovens need much less time to cook! so you end up saving electricity.

The plug of my electric oven is way behind the cupboard, but will try to get to it one day and install a metering plug.
